Balchik is situated 36 km north/north-east from Varna along the east coast of Bulgaria. Hailing as one of the upcoming tourist seaside resorts, Balchik offers romance and style without the heavy price tag just yet. With the recent opening of borders and the fall of communism, many of the east Europe countries have seen a massive growth in both the tourism and the real estate industry in recent years. The town was discovered long before Christ in the so called “V” century. Inhabited first by the Kruni people it has preserved its ancestral history and culture until today. The town is full of cobblestones and the pace is relaxed and laid back, a paradise for those looking for an escape.
The recent real estate and tourism boom has strongly influenced the local hosing market. Every year the amount of tourists visiting Bulgaria has doubled since they opened the birders and there is no stopping in sight in this current trend. Some real estate has therefore seen a growth of nearly 50% in recent years and despite this fact, many small and undiscovered villages or townships such as Balchik are still a bargain to be found by investors.
