Obzor is a relatively small town with a population of a little more than 2000 people. It is situated 65 km south of Varna or around 73km north of Bourgas. It lies at the base of the eastern part of the Stara Planina Mountain with the mountain ridge raising to the west of the city and the Dvoynitsa River bordering it in the north. The town’s long coastline extends from the St. Atanas Cape in the north to the Mona Petra cape in the south. The town's beach also has a small nestling cove and a beach named Irakli, which has been named after an ancient village of the same name. The presence of thickly forested mountain slopes and long sandy beach provides favourable conditions for recreation.
Property market in Obzor is growing with Bulgaria providing a cheaper alternative to people who want to own a second home by the waterfront.
