Borovets is Bulgaria's oldest ski resort, a very popular Bulgarian mountain resort situated in Sofia Province, on the northern slopes of the Rila Mountains, at an altitude of 1350 meters. Borovets is 10 km from Samokov, 70 km from Sofia and 125 km from Plovdiv. The highest piste in Borovets lies at 2600 m. The main ski season runs from December to May, enjoying around 120 days of World class skiing.
