Byala, or Biala as it is also written, is situated approximately 50km south from Varna and accessed via flying to Varna international airport. Byala is without doubt one of the most beautiful locations on the entire coast with sheer hard white cliffs giving way to fine sand beaches that are some of the finest Bulgaria has to offer. Byala is close by to the resort of Obzor and whilst Obzor is very developed Byala is less so, retaining its charming village character. One can also take a ride or a walk to Obzor, which is just 5km away, for fun, shopping or outdoor food.

The sea is usually crystal clear, calm and warm. No dangerous fish live in the Black Sea. Historically speaking, there was an ancient Greek fortress called Aspro nearby to where Byala stands today. Before the reunification of the Bulgarian state in 1885, the border between the Bulgarian Principality and Eastern Rumeliya passed through the town of the Byala. Whilst having much history, the big news of today is that Byala has a Marina about to be built in late 2006 that will really place Byala on the map for international tourism.
