Chepelare
is a town in
Smolyan Province
in Southern
Bulgaria, in
the central
part of the
stunningly beautiful
Rhodope Mountains,
right on the
banks of the
beautiful Chepelare
River which
passes through
the pretty town
of Chepelare.
Chepelare
has its own
ski resort as
well as being
near to Pamporovo
ski resort,
at around 15
KM distance.
Chepelare is
now a popular
winter resort
and boasts one
of the longest
ski runs in
South-Eastern
Europe. The
longest ski
run in Bulgaria
is in Chepelare.
The skiing infrastructure
is basic, but
very well maintained.
Chepelare offers
skiers a 2 chair
lift with capacity
of 700 persons.
