Kavarna is a port town and it dates back to ancient Greek times, when the area was dominated by the Greek fortress of Bizone established in the 5th century BC. Kavarna is today a yacht port, a fishing base, a spacious beach and a resort complex all in one town and a tourist destination. Kavarna is located on the Black Sea Coast in the Dobruja region of northeastern Bulgaria, situated 65 Km north rom Varna and 50 Km from Dobrich. Kavarna is relatively flat terrain with a seacoast of 42 Km shoreline, with a number of fine sand beaches, including an artificial one. Kavarna is one of the larger towns along the Black Sea Coast, with apopulation iof around 12,000.

A number of world class international PGA golf courses are being built nearby and Kavarna is becoming increasingly popular for its stunning sea views to the Black Sea and its excellent World class golf courses. Bulgaria´s acceptance into the EU promises to cause property prices in Bulgaria to increase dramatically. Golf courses with coast views are attracting many across Europe to this and surrounding areas. Gore Chirakman is a part of the coastline of Kavarna where sheer slopes towers above the sea.
