From our talks with tour operators in the area and a general trend toward apartment rental there are strong indications of a present and growing customer base seeking to rent apartments.
Favourable conditions for the rental market – The Municipality of Bansko has demonstrated a strong commitment to develop the town infrastructure. It has undertaken a massive £15million infrastructure upgrade programme. There are approved plans for the installation of a second lift station and the construction of another 45km of ski runs on the south ridge of Todorka. There is also a visibly increasing demand for competitively priced, high quality skiing holidays from British, Russian, Bulgarian and many other European holidaymakers. This demand is likely to increase further with Bulgaria’s predicted accession to the European Union.
Low risk of over development – In an effort to avoid the rampant over construction in other ski resorts in Europe and some of the Black sea resorts Bansko’s municipal government has restricted future developments in the town. This decision will ensure that the town’s infrastructure has sufficient capacity to provide for the tourist season. It also means that developments such as Mountain Views will maintain the views and situation they were constructed for and be subject to less competition from other developments in the future.
