The town of Yablanitsa is picturesquely scattered in between the foothills and valleys of Stara Planina Mountain, along the banks of Kalenovik River. It is located 100 Km north-east of Sofia. Yablanitsa was populated as early as the Stone, Copper and Bronze Ages, there are numerous Thracian ruins scattered around the town. The central street in the town attracts many visitors and is full of houses dating back to late 19th and the early 20th century.
